Trailblazer. Born in the cornfields of Indiana - raised on frozen pizza with the belief that being a doctor, lawyer or politician was as big as this life got. Midwestern values - grandpas worked construction, on the railroad, at the electric plant, for the phone company - or retired military men. Grandmas in an office, with the public library or with the electric company - crazy intelligent. Mama cut hair - daddy worked construction and then moved into sales. Eventually, they opened their own salon. Saw entrepreneurship. Grew up in mostly black schools - learned some important lessons - friends sold drugs, was scared to lose them to jail, violence was normal - always had to be home by 11 - high school hit and went to the fancy one on the North Side with the rich kids cause they let me in on scholarship. Good university - law track - wanted to make everyone proud. My parents family - and pretty much all of my friends who wouldnt see college or get outside of the US. Depression. Anxiety. Knowing something was off, but didnt know what. Moved to Costa Rica. Started global lifestyle - realized I didnt want the normal, but didnt know how to swing it. Time in India. Got my dream job - traveled around the world, learned about social entrepreneurship, saw what worked and what didnt in global give back, learned to sell, learned to network, learned to manifest vision to reality - had the best boss ever who was hard on me - demanded greatness. Tearfully knew it was time to move on. Started a yoga company in the jungle. Worked 12-14 hour days, every day. No money. Studied. Cried. Studied. Cried. Learned how to build an online business. Started training yoga teachers. Wanted it to be more. Made it about changing your fing life - and teaching people how to live free. Inside and outside. Opened the permaculture center - sustainable yogic living. Started non-profit. Built community center for indigenous tribe. Trained hundreds in our method and lifestyle philosophy. Taking nothing and making it something. Inventing the lifestyle of your dreams - and finding the way to make it work. The one with the machete. Thank you thank you thank you.
