BRIGHT GREEN LIES. A Must Read

The spoken question may be How can we live sustainably? but there are unstated premises at play. Most environmentalists assume we must maintain the high-energy modern lifestyle we must at all costs avoid disturbing the prosperity so important to bright greens. The real question theyre asking is, How can we have a sustainable industrial civilization?

And of course, the real answer is that we cant.

This question is a model for all sorts of other questions that allow us to pretend were working on the problems as we continue to kill the planet. We can ask, How can we stop global warming? when we really mean, How can we stop global warming and maintain an industrial lifestyle?

And the answer is that we cant.

Similarly, we can ask, How can we save the oceans? but we really mean, How can we save the oceans without stopping industrial fishing, global warming, and the production of plastics and other pollutants? In other words, How can we save the oceans and still have an industrial lifestyle?

And the answer is that we cant.

We can ask, How can we save the salmon? but we really mean How can we save salmon without stopping industrial logging, industrial fishing, without removing dams, without stopping the murder of the oceans, and without stopping global warming? In other words, How can we save salmon and still have an industrial lifestyle?

And the answer is that we cant.

We cant stop atrocities without stopping the actions that functionally cause the atrocities.

Besides from making a space for our daily meditation
we in the Dreaming Tree of Life Sisterhood see it as a part of our purpose to break the four taboos that in our perspective make it possible for men and women to perpetuate the male-power-over-paradigm
1. That it is the male sex and the systems males have collectively constructed that are the cause of most of the avoidable suffering in the world.
2. That the worlds myths and religions are expressions of male desire and male aggression and legitimize male desire and male aggression. All the gods, divine sons and messengers of myth and religion are either sadists, masochists, possessed by some form of desire or manifest various degrees of power-over. Andor they legitimate desire, sadism, masochism, suffering and all kinds of power-over attitudes and manifestations. We have found only one exception, the Nordic Balder who was killed.
3. That the male sex as a collective and not the female as stated by the patriarchal stereotypes is ruled by emotions and irrationality. This is obvious in male aggression, male sexual vulgarity and perversity, male argumentation, violence and other power-over-actions.
4. That the use of nuclear power is lethal to all Earth-Life and that humanity is in the process of making the Armageddon real with the aid of nuclear power.
