HAVING A SPIRITUAL MIND - SESSION FOUR - Fifth message of the series on CHARACTERISTICS OF ONE BORN AGAIN - Fourth message on SPIRITUAL MIND - the MIND - the second and most important features or attribute characteristics of one born again of the Spirit of God - The characteristics being as follows - 1. A SPIRITUAL HEART - 2. A SPIRITUAL MIND - 3. A SPIRITUAL BODY and 4. A NEW SPIRIT -

IF ONE IS NOT TRANSFORMED IN THEIR MIND THERE IS NO HOPE TO BE TRANSFORMED INTO THE IMAGE OF GOD IN CHRIST - WHICH IS TO BE BORN AGAIN OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD - Those who are of Christ - truly born again of the Spirit of God - now have dominion over their mind - they have mortified their flesh by the Spirit of God - walking in the Spirit - Galatians 524-25 1 Corinthians 926-27 1 Corinthians 216 - The Spirit of God comes in when we rule over the fleshly mind - repentance - denying ungodliness and worldly lusts - Titus 211-12 - Luke 923 - Romans 89.

NOW IN CHRIST ALL THINGS ARE NEW AND WE ARE NO LONGER TO WALK IN THE FUTILITY OF OUR MIND - Ephesians 417-24 - ALL THINGS ARE NEW MEANS THAT THE WAY OUR MINDS USED TO WORK BEFORE CAN NO LONGER BE HOW THEY WORK NOW - If we are unable to control ourselves, our own desires, our own mind in other things why would God give us eternal things? - Our mind directs all our external being - our body. Our mind controls our heart - not just the physical heart - it is all in the mind. Matthew 619-21 Colossians 31-3 - Your treasure on this earth is your mind - your desires focused on your fleshly gratification.

Ephesians 417-18 says that if we do not have dominion over this futility of our mind, we will have darkened hearts and be alienated from the life of God - walking in darkness.

Because we have this darkened mindset we become the following
1 SLAVES OF OURSELVES - When we please ourselves and not God, we become our own gods and our desires become the idols of our hearts - John 834 James 41-4 - We war to satisfy our pleasure - the things in our hearts. If God does not come first we do become our own god and that is what it means to lose our lives when we focus on saving our lives - Luke 924. How do we regain our lost mind and break from pleasing and serving ourselves - serving and our flesh? - Colossians 121-22 Ezekiel 141-6

2. SLAVES OF MEN - Because of this darkened mindset that has not been crucified or mortified, we become slaves of men. Before we can become slaves of men, we have become our own slaves first, otherwise, no man or woman should put us under bondage. Christ came so that He alone will be the voice we should hear and follow and be the ONLY SHEPHERD. Christ warned us to be aware of false shepherds - wolves in sheep clothing. Every man of God is supposed to turn others to God and to flee from sin and free others from sin - Romans 622 - It is when we are set free from being a slave of sin, we become slaves of God and get eternal life - this is the gospel of Jesus Christ!

How would we be aware of false teaches and wolves? - check if what anyone is telling you is consistent with the words of Jesus Christ. Many claim to be servants of God but what they do will betray them How come we cannot discern these falsehood - because our minds are darkened and we have turned away from the Lord - we need to return to Him - Matthew 2423-26. Jesus Christ has come as the final word and final authority - Hebrews 11-3 - You and I are complete in Christ - Colossians 28-10.

What did Christ say and what did He do? - If we narrow ourselves to what Christ said and did we will be safe and not be decieved. - When Christ was tempted He responded with the words of His Father - it is written. To set ourselves free from the bondage and slavery of men, we should respond like Jesus Christ - John 530 John 828 - this is One who has the mind of the Father. Because we do not listen to, and obey only the voice of the Shepherd and Master Jesus Christ we listen to confusing voices and become deceived and easily put into bondage by others. - The natural inclination of human beings is to put others into bondage - they will deceive you and teach you their own doctrines contrary to Christ - 2 Peter 21-3, 12-19. Because of this fleshly mind, we become so vulnerable that we allow others to turn us away from the truth relying on bogus signs and wonders.

Why did God send His only begotten SON to us? - In the past He sent prophets but now has sent Christ - God may still send prophets - but the only purpose is for them to tell people to repent and do the words of Jesus Christ. - Christ said that when He goes that He will send the Holy Spirit to remind us of what He had said John 1425-26 - Christ said the law and prophets were before John but now the kingdom of God is within you - make yourself ready for the kingdom within - repent for the kingdom which is at hand He said - Why did the Father send Jesus Christ? - that we may no longer be deceived - John 107-9 John 146 John 1334-35.

There is no other to come - Christ has come!. God even allowed false prophets in the old testament to test their hearts - Deuteronomy 131-4 - God is always watching - are My children still gullible - will they fail the test? - My people perish for lack of knowledge of the Truth and for doing evil - He says - Hosea 46-10 - We are to fear Him and obey Him or He will send a strong delusion to anyone who does not love practice the Truth - 2 Thessalonians 27-11 - Are we serving ourselves or God? Avoid anyone who is not living and or preaching the truth or you will share in their judgment. - 2 John 19-11.

3. SLAVES OF THE DEVIL - This is something that has brought total darkness over churches and communities worldwide especially in Nigeria and Africa specifically. Where the Spirit is not there - there is no liberty, no freedom, no sound mind - 2 Corinthians 317 - The Spirit of God will not be in us if our mind is not free, but is set on earthly and fleshly things. - Romans 85-8 2 Timothy 17 - If we are afraid of the devil and do his work a sinner does the work of the devil -then the devil is glorified. - 1 John 38 - we cannot sin because of our mind that brings sin is now controlled -brought under dominion.

However, if we do the works of the devil, we believe in the devil. - John 843-44 - John 1411-12 - We are afraid - Proverbs 281 - when everything we think is about demons - we are not free. The One who is in us is greater than what is in the world - it means my mind has overcome the world. YES, THERE IS EVIL AND WICKEDNESS, BUT IF WE ARE THIS FEARFUL - WHAT IS THE ESSENCE OF BECOMING CHILDREN OF GOD?
